Pro-Development has enhanced it’s training curricu-lum to better meet the needs of the youth players of today while making it more affordable than ever. PD will consist of a 3 phase schedule that maximizes the benefit and minimizes the cost.Spring and Fall Leagues: 10 hours of fast paced 3 on 3 no check games on the 120’ x 65’ small rink*. Each hour of ice will consist of three 18 minute games. No coaching of players on the ice is allowed! There will be a referee using "touch up" in place of face-offs to create pace and flow. There will be no "whole team" registrations. Single player registrations and an emphasis on the creation of competitively balanced teams will make it beneficial and fun for all players. The Spring league will run March - April.Summer Skills Training: 9 sessions over 2 weeks, (15 sessions for H.S.) focus-ing on individual skills. The fundamental skills of skating, shooting and stickhandling are the primary areas of focus. Defensive and offensive skill sets within the above parameters will be given considerable attention. Players will learn the subtle elements of de-fensive and offensive play in order to make them smarter, as well as more skilled. Each session will include 45 minutes of dryland activities. We will also spend time on proper checking techniques and over all body contact. There will be a 45 minute dryland session each day focusing on speed, quickness, agility and balance. Register with deposit by April 1st.***H.S. Summer session includes full weight training program running June - October Wolf Pup Hockey - Click here for more information Wolf-Pup Hockey is back for it’s 7th summer. This program is designed as an affordable, low-key, fun clinic for Termite/Mite/U-8/Squirt/U-10 level players. We will do skills/drills along with a combination of small area games to improve the overall skill level of our players. This program is only once a week, just enough to give the kids an opportunity to skate during the summer without having hockey everyday. The instructors will be Scott Strand, Adam Palodichuk, Scott Pierre, and other excellent hockey people that care about the development of Cottage Grove Hockey. Coaches are current or former coaches in the association. Groups will be based on next season’s hockey age. Group 1 5/6 yr olds; Group 2 7/8 yr olds; Group 3 8/9 yr olds (Nine yr olds that played Mites/U-8’s this past season); and Group 4 9/10 yr olds (Returning Squirt and U-10 players) *** Goalies please contact Scott Strand on special rates and sessions. This program will run from June 20th thru September, depending on the number of skaters registered. There will be 13-15 hours for this program. Cost for program is $80 per child, based on 30 kids per group. This program is based on a first-come, first serve basis with 30-40 skaters per group.
