2009-10 CGHA Player RegistrationI hope you are enjoying your summer. While it seems like summer has just begun and winter hockey may be the furthest thing from your mind, it is time to register for the 2009-2010 hockey season. The registration period will run through August 14th, 2009. We will not be having walk-in registration for returning players this year. Player registration. In addition to registering online this year, you will now be able to pay for the upcoming season on-line for each player on a secure online payment site. Fees. The only fee you are paying up front is the $175 per child registration fee ($300** for U16 and U19) and the $100 family volunteer deposit. **Fully refundable if no team is formed. Why do we have to pay a registration fee? Each year we anticipate what profit we can bring in from association events like the Fall Dance, Tournaments, Hockey Fest...etc and then look at the expenses that will not be reimbursed by the traveling teams and set the registration fee. What does this fee go toward is a question often echoed at the arena. Registration fees go towards adminstrative costs, clinic and tryout ice times, equipment supplied by the association, ice time, jerseys and coaches clinics for the Mite/Termite/U8 program.....essentially all the costs that run the association. Please keep in mind that we can't run this organization without the help of Volunteers and one of our biggest offsets are tournaments and fund raising. These tournaments are very profitable which helps us offset the cost during the year and fund raising is a necessity. Please take the time to look at the many opportunities to help out during the year including the open committee positions. If these are not filled everyone ice bills will increase this year as well. Please contact a Board member anytime to discuss the open positions. Volunteer Fee: Please note that online system will only charge one volunteer fee per family during registration as long as you use the same home phone # for each person you are registering (Volunteer Fee only applies to U10 / Squirt and older players). Online or Mail in registrations for returning players must be postmarked or received no later then August 14th, 2009. Birth Certificates: All first time registrants, new U10 and Squirt players who do not have on file with the CGHA a valid Birth Certificate must submit a copy of a Government issued Certificate of Live Birth. These are usually obtained from the county of birth. Hospital Certificates of Live Birth DO NOT meet the USA Hockey requirements and will not be accepted. Birth Certificates are not returned. Please submit a copy to:
The following three items must be completed and received on or before August 14th, 2009.
Any of these items received after August 14th, 2009 will be charged a $50.00 late registration fee and the registration will not be processed until the late fee has been paid. The only exceptions to the late fee charges will be for new termites/U6 or mites/U8 and any players who did not play in the CGHA during the 2008-2009 season. Refund Policy There will be a minimum charge of $25.00 subtracted from the registration fee on all registration/player withdrawals. If the withdrawal takes place during tryouts or within two weeks after teams are formed, an additional $40 will be subtracted from the registration fee. There will be no refunds of registration fees issued after that time. Injured players are responsible for their ice and team expenses during the time of their injury, unless they withdraw for the season. Players withdrawing will only be responsible for expenses up to the time of injury. Past due amounts. Past due amounts must be paid in full or registration. If not, registration will not be accepted for any family member. NO EXCEPTIONS. Contact Budget Director, Colleen Gutwein at gutwecm@yahoo.com or (651) 702-6520 if you have an outstanding balance. SO REMEMBER THAT AUGUST 14TH, 2009 IS THE DEAD LINE FOR THIS YEARS REGISTRATION!
